THE MAKING OF THE JULY WALLPAPER

This month’s color palette is inspired by a toned down color prism, rainbow like colors, but as I said much more muted. I’m enjoying these soft, creamy hues and loved doing some wet on wet in this painting. The colors truly are soothing which made me feel calm while painting. Not a bad perk!

Equally thoughtful is this snappy quote by Mark Twain. He has such a way of making brilliant commentaries seem so simple and obvious. “The secret of getting ahead is getting started…” It doesn’t get much more basic, and yet how easy is it to fall into the trap of thinking that there is some secret formula that will fast track us directly to our dream result.

This year I vowed to make things different. I’ve decided that putting my head down and doing the work is the only secret formula I’m following. I’m all in.

I hope this wallpaper happily reminds you of whatever it is you promised yourself you needed to accomplish this year.
