FIELD DAY

As I make my way to the sunny field, the melody of bird song, the feel of the breeze on my face, and the sea of flowers rolling in the wind, beckon me closer. As I make my way along an old path, I find some rusty garden tools laying in the rich soil, and I spot an aging bird house in the blossoming tree above. I contemplate the history in this lively little world, I wonder what other mysteries it holds. I breathe deeply, feel my whole self relax, and know I am home at last.

Life is filled with things we don't understand, like how sunsets can be so breathtaking, why listening to the ocean can be so calming, and how the universe just keeps expanding regardless of how vast it already is. These repeating patterns throughout life connect us all on a deeper level than we know. This collection is a tribute to the simplicity and the abstract beauty of life itself.

As the leaves fall and the stars come out earlier and earlier, the bountiful harvest and the warm glow of the fire provide comfort. The aroma of gingerbread and pine sprigs fill the air, while the rich colors of winter berries and garland envelop the room like familiar friends. The family of robins prepare for their long journey until they return to greet us with bird song again next season.

Hi! I’m Chris, and I have always been fascinated with fabric and stationary design since I was a small girl. I’ve always loved sewing and paper crafts, so I would spend hours in the stores selecting things for my latest projects.

When I first discovered that surface design could be a real career choice for me, I was over the moon! I graduated from Bonnie Christine’ Immersion course in 2020, and I’ve been obsessed with designing ever since. I worked on Bonnie’s Immersion support team in 2021 and 2022 helping new students, and opened my POD shop featuring my designs.

I’m inspired by the desert where I live, watercolor painting which I teach on Skillshare.com and in my own courses, but I’m also passionate about fashion, travel, abstract art, and much more. You’re sure to see these themes in the work I create going forward. I’ve licensed a fashion illustration course for a school in San Francisco, and I’m currently pursuing art and design licensing deals.
