Have you ever thought to yourself, "I'd really like to teach an online class… "
I know you have something valuable to share. We all do! Our individual journeys cause us to have unique perspectives that can benefit others. Even if it's on a topic that is already extremely popular.
As a creative, it’s so easy to want to stay in the background and not take the leap.
I used to tell myself,
"There are already too many teachers out there, "
or “The tech is too hard for me!”
or "Who would listen to me anyway? "
or "I'm too nervous and it's just too much work! “
And the dialog kept right on going. Sound familiar?
I use simple tools so the process doesn’t get overwhelming!
Maybe you have tried teaching but got discouraged along the way. It's not easy to be visible in the sea of teachers out there. Especially for artists and creatives. Plus it’s a big time commitment. But that doesn't mean it's not worth doing!
The truth? I’ve had some trials and tantrums that made me want to just quit already. But the dream kept me picking myself up and dusting myself off to try again. And again. And again! In that time, I really learned a lot. Now I can make a class quite fluidly and I’ve worked so many of those bugs out of my process.
I’m here to tell you, there is a way to grow your following and find your own tribe. And there are tips and tricks that can save you lots of time. So if you still have that desire to teach your own classes I have an idea for you.
Creatives think differently, so I had to get a unique approach.
This year I’m hoping to share what I’ve learned from being an online art teacher for 6 years. I want to share what I know with you in order to save you tons of time and frustration.
Here are some of the things I think could help you:
How to approach this process as a creative.
My formula for choosing a good class topic.
Ways to diminish the tech intimidation factor.
How to present your craft so it’s easy to understand.
Methods to create good film and photography,
Tricks to save you time on making visual slides and cover images.
Ways to market your class for success.
And most of all, tips and encouragement to help you stay with it!
Using the right systems was key to my success!
Do any or all of these resonate with you? If so, I’d love to have you along for a special journey that I am crafting. One that will give you the support you may be looking for. Support from a fellow creative who’s been where you are.
I have lots of ideas, but for now, I’m thinking of a separate newsletter focused on the challenges that you are struggling with. So that with each one you can get a new piece of the puzzle that will save you time and frustration. I’d like to do it monthly for now, but we’ll see how it goes.
What do you think? Are you ready to crush those creative teaching goals?
If you are, sign up below to join the new Art of Class Creation newsletter, and start getting the help you need.
I can't wait to go on this journey together!
